Setup Guide

Add your show to Microsoft’s network so you appear on Bing, Windows, and Microsoft Maps. This mirrors your Google listing—name, address, dates/hours, website, and photos—so families can find you anywhere.

1 Sign In / Create Account

Use a Microsoft account

  • Go to bingplaces.com and click Sign in.
  • Sign in with a Microsoft account (Outlook/Hotmail) or create one.
  • Choose Small or medium business to continue.
2 Import from Google or Add Manually

Save time with the Google import

  • If you already have a Google Business Profile, choose Import from Google and connect your Google account.
  • Alternatively, choose Add new business and follow the prompts.
  • Search for your show name first—if someone created a listing, you can claim it.
Tip: Import keeps most fields aligned—still review hours, categories, and photos after the sync.
3 Basics: Name, Address, Phone, Website

Enter the essentials

  • Business/Show name (match your website and Google listing).
  • Address (pin the map exactly where guests should arrive).
  • Phone (optional). Website URL (your new Lumos site).
  • If you don’t serve at your address, choose Service Area and set your region/city.
Consistency matters: Keep name, address, and website identical to Google—search engines trust matching info.
4 Categories & Description

Tell Bing what you are

  • Pick a primary category (e.g., Holiday light display, Tourist attraction, Event).
  • Add a short description focusing on your city, dates/hours, and what visitors will see.
  • Include your website in the description if allowed.
5 Hours & Seasonal Dates

Make your open times crystal clear

  • Set your seasonal schedule (open/close dates for your show).
  • Add daily hours (e.g., Sun–Thu 5–10pm, Fri–Sat 5–11pm).
  • Use special hours for one-off closures or longer nights.
Tip: When your season ends, update hours to closed—don’t delete the listing.
6 Photos & Logo

Upload eye-catching images

  • Logo: Square (at least 512×512).
  • Cover: Wide image (at least 1200px width) showing the display.
  • Add a few night shots, a map or parking image, and any unique props/features.
Quality helps: Bright, sharp images increase clicks to your website and directions.
7 Verification

Confirm ownership

  • Bing offers verification by phone, email, or postcard to the address (options vary).
  • Enter the code to complete verification—publishing follows after review.
8 Publish & Optimize

Go live and keep it fresh

  • Click Publish, then search for your show on Bing/Maps to confirm.
  • Point guests to your website for directions, schedule, and FAQs.
  • Encourage reviews—respond politely and update photos/hours before each season.
