Google Business Profile — Setup Guide

Put your show on Google Maps so people can find you, tap directions, see dates/hours, and follow updates.

0 Before You Start

What you’ll need

  • Google account for ownership
  • Show name (exact match to your site)
  • Address or Service Area
  • Public phone + website
  • Category (e.g., Holiday Lighting Attraction)
  • Logo and photos of your display
Tip: Keep your Name, Address, Phone (NAP) consistent everywhere.
1 Create or Claim

Create or claim your profile

  1. Go to business.google.com and sign in.
  2. Search for your show name. Claim it if found, or select Add your business.
  3. Enter your business name exactly as on your site.
  4. Select a primary category that matches best.
2 Enter Business Info

Core fields

  • Business name — exact match
  • Category — closest fit
  • Address/Service Area — choose one
  • Phone — public contact
  • Website — link to your site
3 Verify Ownership

Verification options

Google may require postcard, phone, email, or video verification.

  • Enter the code or complete the steps.
  • Do not edit key info during verification.
4 Optimize Profile

Hours

  • Set regular open hours.
  • Add holiday hours for peak nights.

Description

  • Write 1–3 short paragraphs with city, dates, and highlights.

Photos

  • Add cover photo, logo, and several high-quality night shots.
5 Maintain

Season checklist

  • Update hours each season.
  • Add new photos mid-season.
  • Reply to reviews and Q&A.
  • Post updates for weather or special events.
My address is private. Can I still have a profile?

Yes. Use a Service Area Business and hide your street address.

The postcard never arrived—what now?

Request a new code after 14 days and ensure the address format is correct.

I found a duplicate listing.

Claim the existing profile or request a merge. Don’t create a duplicate.
