Setup Guide

Show up where neighbors plan outings. Create a Business Page with your address, open dates/hours, website, and photos so locals discover you quickly on Nextdoor. This guide focuses on visibility and information—no ads required.

1 Sign In / Create Page

Create or claim your Business Page

  • Go to business.nextdoor.com and click Get Started.
  • Sign in with an email or continue with Google/Apple; create an account if needed.
  • Search your show name—if a page exists, claim it; otherwise choose Create.
2 Business Type & Location

Choose how you appear to neighbors

  • Select Business Page (not public agency).
  • Enter your street address and place the pin exactly where visitors should arrive.
  • If you prefer not to list an exact address, choose a service area and add your city/region.
3 Basics: Name • Address • Website

Keep the core info consistent

  • Business/Show name — match your website and Google/Bing listings.
  • Address & directions — add parking notes if helpful.
  • Website URL — your Lumos site where guests get schedule, directions, and FAQs.
  • Phone or messaging — optional, turn on if you can reply promptly.
Consistency matters: Matching name/address/URL across platforms helps search engines trust your info.
4 Categories & Description

Explain your show in a sentence or two

  • Select the most relevant category (e.g., Holiday light display, Tourist attraction, Event).
  • Write a short, clear description: city, dates/hours, music sync, charity support, etc.
  • Include your website in the description if allowed.
5 Hours & Seasonal Dates

Tell neighbors exactly when you’re open

  • Set your seasonal open/close dates.
  • Add daily hours (e.g., Sun–Thu 5–10pm, Fri–Sat 5–11pm).
  • Use special hours for holiday exceptions or weather closures.
Tip: When your season ends, mark the page as closed for the off-season—don’t delete it.
6 Photos & Logo

Help people recognize your display

  • Logo: Square 512×512 or larger.
  • Cover: Wide hero image of the display (≥1200px width).
  • Add 3–6 night photos that show your best angles; include a parking/layout image if useful.
7 Verification

Confirm you’re the owner

  • Nextdoor may verify by email/phone or by review of your business details.
  • Complete the prompts to unlock full page controls and messaging.
8 Publish & Grow Locally

Make it easy for neighbors to find you

  • Publish your page, then search on Nextdoor and confirm it appears correctly.
  • Turn on Recommendations and Messages so visitors can leave feedback and ask questions.
  • Share your page link on your website and social bios; add a “Find us on Nextdoor” note.
  • Post occasional updates (opening night, special songs, charity nights). Keep posts short and helpful.
